Product Introduction


The inclined conical extraction tank is primarily used in process operations such as atmospheric- and low-pressure water extraction, warm percolation, hot reflux, intensified stirring, percolation, aromatic oil extraction, and organic solvent recovery for traditional Chinese medicine, plant, and animal materials. The upright conical‑shaped extraction tank features a large vessel diameter, a smaller slag discharge port with improved sealing, and reduced material dispersion during discharge, making collection more convenient.

 

Accessory components


The inclined conical extraction tank can be equipped with a condenser, a cooler, an oil–water separator, a foam trap, a filter, and a medicinal‑liquid storage vessel. The oil–water separator is primarily used in the alcohol‑extraction process to recover oil. Depending on the customer’s specific process requirements, the extraction tank can be designed with a stirring system; an internal mechanical agitator is installed to induce movement of the raw materials during extraction, accelerating mixing and effectively preventing low‑density medicinal liquids from floating on the solvent surface and resulting in inadequate wetting. This enhances extraction efficiency and shortens the extraction time.

Working principle


The entire extraction process in the extraction tank is carried out within a closed, recirculating system, allowing for both atmospheric-pressure and low-pressure extraction. Depending on the design of the inner vessel as a pressure vessel, low-pressure extraction is also feasible. Whether the process involves water extraction, enzymatic extraction, oil extraction, or other applications, the specific process parameters are determined by the customer based on the pharmacological properties of the target compound.
1. Water extraction: Water and the Chinese medicinal materials are loaded into the extraction vessel according to a specified process ratio. The jacketed heating source is then activated; once the contents in the vessel have come to a boil, the heat supply is reduced, maintaining a gentle simmer. The extraction is carried out for an appropriate duration based on the specific pharmacological extraction protocol, ensuring that the active constituents of the herbs or herbal slices are thoroughly dissolved in water.
2. Alcohol Extraction: First, the medicinal materials and alcohol are added to the vessel according to a specified process ratio, sealing the system. A jacketed heating source is applied; once the internal temperature reaches the required level, the heat supply is reduced to maintain the tank temperature at the desired process range for a set duration, ensuring that the active constituents of the traditional Chinese medicine or herbal slices are fully dissolved into the alcohol. The vaporized alcohol is then condensed into liquid form and returned to the vessel for reuse in subsequent extraction cycles. To enhance efficiency, forced circulation may be employed: the liquid extract is pumped from the bottom of the vessel and recirculated back into the interior through an upper inlet.
3. Oil Extraction: First, the traditional Chinese medicine containing volatile oils and water are added to the extraction vessel according to a specified process ratio. Steam is introduced into the jacketed heating system to reach the desired volatilization temperature; the steam flow rate is then adjusted, and the vessel temperature is maintained at the required level for a set duration. The volatilized aromatic oil is cooled via a cooling system, and the cooled herbal extract is separated using an oil–water separator.
