I. Safety Precautions for Storage Tanks
1. The storage tank shall be located away from sources of ignition, heat, and high-temperature areas, with adequate ventilation in the surrounding area.
2. Substances stored in tanks must be clearly labeled and classified in strict accordance with applicable regulations; mixing of incompatible materials is prohibited to prevent unnecessary accidents.
3. Storage tanks shall be inspected and maintained regularly, with potential hazards addressed promptly to ensure safe operation.
4. Fire‑prevention facilities shall be installed around storage tanks, and oil‑leakage control measures shall be implemented to prevent ignition, explosion, and environmental contamination.
5. Personnel working near storage tanks must comply with the prescribed safety operating procedures and prohibitive regulations and shall not engage in any non-compliant operations.
6. Ignition, smoking, welding, and other such activities are prohibited in the vicinity of storage tanks.
7. In the event of a gas leak from a storage tank, immediately apply water spray, scatter sand, or use a misting agent to contain the leak, and notify the relevant authorities for further handling.
II. Emergency Measures for Storage Tanks
1. In the event of a tank leak, explosion, or other emergency, immediate measures shall be taken to shut off relevant pipelines and valves and to seal the leak point.
2. Relocate affected personnel and evacuate nearby residents to prevent casualties.
3. In the event of smoke, toxic gases, or hazardous gas leaks, minimize inhalation and use a respirator; promptly clean both your body and your equipment.
4. Following an explosion, necessary fire‑extinguishing measures shall be taken and the local fire department shall be notified; no unauthorized handling or intervention is permitted.
5. With regard to the prevention of and emergency response to tank‑related safety incidents, a comprehensive emergency plan shall be developed and promptly activated and implemented upon the occurrence of an incident.
