After more than a decade of research and development in synthetic biology, the client company has developed proprietary synthetic biomanufacturing technologies and processes. It has overcome the bottleneck of large-scale production under controlled conditions—free from microbial contamination and heavy-metal impurities—and established a uniquely designed biofermentation system that is now in commercial operation.
Leveraging synthetic biology and cell‑factory technologies, we are focused on developing a portfolio of high‑value bioactive compounds with anti‑aging, anti‑tumor, and immune‑boosting properties. Our mission is to provide innovative raw materials and solutions for the nutrition‑health, new‑drug development, and medical‑cosmetic sectors, serving functional health‑food manufacturers, pharmaceutical producers, cosmetic brands, and end‑users worldwide.
For more than a decade, experts from our client company based in the United States have devoted themselves to the research and development of Euglena and its polysaccharide (β‑1,3‑glucan). The product is derived from the naturally occurring strain Euglena gracilis, cultivated heterotrophically in sealed, upright bioreactors under aerobic conditions. It is obtained through a purely natural fermentation process free of heavy metal contamination, with a β‑1,3‑glucan content exceeding 70%. Compared with conventionally cultivated Euglena, it boasts higher purity and enhanced biological activity.
This project is a key initiative for the production of algae‑fermentation‑related products. The primary equipment includes reactors, fermentation tanks, blending systems, CIP cleaning systems, and storage tanks—essential machinery for microbial fermentation applications. Throughout the collaboration, Guangzhou Maiko Machinery Co., Ltd. provided end-to-end support, from conceptual design and equipment manufacturing to installation, commissioning, and formal production launch. Through amicable consultation and mutual progress, we completed equipment delivery and acceptance in June 2023. During the warranty period, our equipment demonstrated consistent performance, ensuring reliable continuous production for the client. Subsequently, we established a long‑term partnership with the client, continuing to supply additional production equipment and maintenance services.
